I will always forgive you...because I love you.
[For lack of a better word, last night with Kimblee was nothing short of heavenly.

I feel like such a moron, acting this way...but it was nice. Maybe this was what I wanted all along. To be kissed like that. It's something I never thought I could have. I feel oddly satisfied. There's no need to find new drama to entertain myself with. I feel satisfied with things the way they are -- even if I would have called this "boring" just two days ago.]

Oh, yeah, by the way. My powers were revoked or something. I can't control this world anymore. I don't know the reason, but that's how it is.

I can only imagine it's because of your actions the other night. You have no right to this world's powers if you're going to use them to destroy it.

Yeah, somehow I think that almost destroying the world would be a good reason to take away this loser's powers.

Well, if that's not good enough, what could be? Ha ha, I feel relieved.

I'm glad to know the world doesn't WANT to be destroyed. It seems like it wants every other crazy shenanigan, so I wouldn't be surprised.

But yeah...I'm relieved, too.

It's not like I knew that would happen! My only goal was to make Ryoji powerless, not to destroy the world.

Your reasons are irrelevant in a matter such as this. If there weren't the likes of us around, the world would be doomed regardless of your intentions.

I hope you think of this as your punishment.

Hey, we might have figured it out eventually. Anyway, I get it -- I shouldn't mess with things I don't know anything about, right? Punishment or no, it's not going to stop me from experimenting with things from time to time. I'm curious; what can I say?

Maybe I want to find a way to cheat death.

You have already received a warning from this world's consciousness and yet you continue to stick your nose in places it doesn't belong? I will say no more. I can see the futility in speaking with you about it.

Further inquiry into the matter will only lead to your downfall. There is no way to cheat death. It is an unbreakable rule that governs humans. People have been trying to cheat death for many centuries but to no avail. If you are either so arrogant or so foolish as to feel that you will be the one human to prove this theory wrong, you are sadly mistaken.

The only salvation rests in the end itself.

Why, you're so insightful all of the sudden! It's rare to see you speak such a way in this place.

But I'll have you know that I am fully aware of the possible consequences to such actions. And maybe you're right -- that I'm arrogant or foolish, but it's important to me to face my fears. I have to face death head on. And win.

"In this place?" You sound as if you are aware of how I present myself in other places. But you are correct. I have little interest in the workings of this world -- it is a brief (or perhaps not so brief) respite from the troubles of my own world. I see no reason to preach to others in a world such as this.

As far as facing your fears is concerned, that is an admirable goal. However, be that as it may, I believe you have mistaken facing your fears with running from them, Izaya-san.

Believe what you want to believe. I'm doing what I have to for myself and no one else.

And just as it is with you, there isn't much I can do about it in this world. Or so it seems, with the failure of my recent plan. I'll just have to bide my time here until the times comes when I can return to my own world (where I will become the Valkyrie Celty's chosen warrior).

I see. Well, holding tightly to one's beliefs is also admirable in its own way, despite the foolishness of yours.

We may be stuck here a long time, so, it is best to do as you said and bide your time. Try not to think about that part too much. You'll enjoy yourself more.

Heh. Thanks for the advice. I'll try. ...I would find it easier if I wasn't wasting valuable time here, though. I won't be twenty-one forever, as much as I hate to say it.

Sorry to butt in, Takaya, but Izaya-- aren't you twenty-three?

[info]prophetizaya

Ahhh, don't say that. [Izaya chuckles.] It's true, I'm twenty-three. But I like to think of myself as being forever twenty-one. [In a place like this, though, I begin to realize how untrue this is. Wasting the best years of my life, I tell you. And wasting the time I could be spending bringing chaos to fuel the war.]

Anyway, Takaya's right. Enjoy the peace while you can. Important plans aside, it's better like this.

I'll take your advice to heart. [Not. Have you both grown weak in your time here? So weak as to believe that "peace" is better than your own prophecy? I won't do the same, even if I never return to Tokyo. I simply refuse.]

You...were you, Izaya. And I was a catalyst.

Is it alright for me to say that I bring out the better side of Solf? (I can't say he does the same to me.)

I just...I don't approve, but maybe I do?

This is all very complicated to me. Solf is very complicated.

Apparently, so am I.

I'm bad at making up my mind. What can I say?

I've been wondering if there was a way I could "share" consciousness with you when I take your body. Since it's not nice to block you out like that. I guess we'll see.

You and I are bound to always have a complicated relationship, I think.

Well, it's never happened to anyone else here, so who can say, right?

[Roy figures they'll just have to wait and see. This might be like a probationary period for Izaya. If his powers return, will they come back all at once or gradually?]
